Miss Lonely

Lonely wakes up each morning,

And sees that no one is there.

Lonely gets dressed and eats breakfast,

Toast and jam for one.

Lonely leaves the house now empty,

She won’t be back till late.

Lonely looks at her phone not ringing,

Hypnotised by scrolling news feeds.

Lonely comes home to silence,

Sitting wrapped up warm.

Lonely watches the time go by,

Till she does this again tomorrow.
